Another Animal (the Story of Our Life Here)

When we brought this home from our friends' house to show Seth, he immediately wanted to phone his cousin who once-upon-a-time had these at pets.  Believe me, they were never as big as this one!

Seth ended up letting it go, thinking it would have a  better life out in the wild.  We don't really know where Seth got his interest and compassion for all things insect, reptilian, amphibian, etc., because although I find the information about them fascinating, I can't say there's any love lost between us.  And I think Shaun is even more hesitant about these animals than me!

    1. Hi Aunt Olga,
You sure can see the similarities between Spanish and Portuguese, I'm sure when you visit you'll be able to get around no problem! Actually, everyone here takes Spanish as a second language as well. Seth would be learning it in grade one already, but I figure that might confuse him more than just focusing on learning Portuguese for now, so he's not attending that class. Besides it's on Monday morning at 7, which isn't a great day to wake up early, as Sunday night is church and then supper at our "adopted" family's house. And you are right about Seth having a sweet heart, I have to say that all the new animals and insects around here have definitely eased his transition.

In answer to how long we are here, we are going back to Canada briefly in May/June to pick up our permanent visas, and then the plan is to live here medium-term, maybe 3-5 years. We are working on setting up the coco-peat plant, but I should probably do more of a post about that particular subject in case others are interested.

Oh, and I understand why you wrote earlier that blogger doesn't like your comments, and how it won't let you post: I have to "approve" comments. I have that setting because my blog is actually a public blog, so I don't want rude comments showing up from random strangers. So I have been reading your posts and publishing them, it just might take a day or two. Sorry about that! I really appreciate them.

      Hope you're doing well!
      Brenda

    2. Hi Brenda,
We are planning a few days in BC as well but in the second week of July. We'll just have missed you guys.

It sounds like things are going well.

and about me not being able to post...I really couldn't. I had reset my computer etc...I was having other problems as well but all seems to be resolved. I think it's good you have to approve posts.
      Enjhoy your day.
Praying that you will have a blessed Easter. Are Holy week events in full swing?
