Walk like a Brazilian

Yesterday Seth got the Bible to read at lunch, and tried to walk with it on his head without using his hands. We told him to stop before it dropped, and he says, "I'm just trying to be a Brazilian woman!" I also overheard him talking to Hazel this morning, "Hazel do you want to be a Brazilian woman?"

It is amazing all the stuff these women can walk piled on their heads without using their hands. I noticed they do have a cloth rolled up in a circle to help balance it. I also wonder if their neck starts shrinking....literally.

Things on our to-do list this week (or at least mine):
-learn past tense
-learn future tense
-review present tense
-enjoy some Cointreau - it is a French liqueur made from orange peel that was introduced to us by Otto as a (unnecessary) thank you for the small amount of hospitality we were able to show him. But of course we will drink it without complaining! Thanks, Otto!
-Pick up diapers and boxed milk in Aldeia (there is no such thing as bulk in most stores here, everything is in small packaging. Maybe because of lack of storage space and lack of refrigeration space? If you can buy bigger packaging it is not always cheaper than buying a pile of smaller items. Aldeia apparently has a bulk store that we are going to check out....I really miss Costco!)

- and the most important: PICK UP SHAUN's PARENTS! Yay! well not literally pick them up because they are renting a vehicle, but we are driving up to Recife/Aldeia when they get here. They get here on Thursday. I think we will be going up Friday or Saturday.

I also want to thank Lisa and Harvey for sending along some Dutch candy and chocolate hagel and baby wipes with Otto! the baby wipes here are thin and very filmy and soapy so that was a nice relief for Lyla's sensitive little bum!

Alright now off to "study!"

  2. I believe that is one of Mosis favorite drink. I think if you give him a small glass he would love you all forever.
